Satierra offers science-based sustainability assessment services to support individuals and organizations in making informed, responsible decisions toward a more sustainable future. Built on a holistic scientific framework and aligned with international standards, the work contributes to sustainability across sectors. By combining data-driven quantitative modeling and analytical methods with a contextual understanding of regulations, policy developments, and methodological frameworks, Satierra enables clients to evaluate trade‑offs, identify risks and opportunities, and strengthen the robustness of strategic decisions. My objective is not to help you produce metrics for compliance or tick a checkbox, but to turn current performance into measurable and meaningful improvement.
Satierra also aims to take part in shaping a sustainable future through social impact and community awareness.
My name is Pouya Samani, and I am a sustainability scientist and consultant with over 13 years of experience in sustainability assessment. I currently work independently through my sole proprietorship, Satierra, and serve as a GHG evaluator for CINEA/European Commission (contract-based). Previously, I worked as a scientist at TNO and as an Assistant Professor and Sustainability Research Coordinator at Maastricht University.
I hold a PhD in Engineering Design and Advanced Manufacturing under the MIT–Portugal Program (University of Porto & MIT) and a Master’s degree in Production Engineering (Chalmers University of Technology & Polytechnic University of Catalunya). My work spans a wide range of international and European projects across different sectors including biobased materials, plastics, packaging, and the built environment.
